Physics explores matter, energy, and their interactions through both experimentation and theory, spanning from subatomic particles to cosmic phenomena. Our faculty members hold key positions in groundbreaking global initiatives like CERN's Large Hadron Collider and the LIGO gravitational wave detector. This program carries accreditation from the Institute of Physics. Beyond classroom learning, students benefit from our Garscube Campus facilities including an observatory, planetarium, and telescopes. The department boasts two student-led societies: PhySoc and AstroSoc.

Three A-levels at grades A*AA in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics attained in one exam year and at the first attempt.
IB advanced entry requirements
38 points with three Higher Level subjects at 6,6,6 in Mathematics (Analysis & Approaches), and Physics attained in one exam year and at the first attempt.
