Theology & Religious Studies involves examining religion, sacred texts, and theological concepts in connection with political systems, historical contexts, literary works, artistic expressions, and cultural practices, alongside personal faith and rituals. Our department is deeply committed to investigating religion's impact on societal structures and cultural developments. We provide two distinct programs - the MA and BD - with different curricular structures in their initial years. The BD program particularly appeals to those seeking specialization in Christian studies or ministerial preparation. Throughout your studies, you'll investigate religion's presence in humanity's diverse textual, artistic, and philosophical traditions, as well as its effects on political conflicts and social perspectives. The curriculum offers flexibility to either survey multiple religious traditions or concentrate specifically on Christianity.
Our alumni have pursued careers in law, education, social services, finance, government, youth services, non-profit organizations, healthcare, and religious institutions.
