Theology & Religious Studies involves examining religion, sacred texts, and theological concepts in connection with political systems, historical contexts, literary works, philosophical ideas, artistic expressions, and cultural practices, alongside personal faith and rituals. Our department is deeply committed to investigating religion's impact on political and societal structures. We provide two distinct programs, MA and BD, which vary in their initial two-year curriculum structure. The BD program particularly appeals to those seeking specialization in Christianity or preparing for religious vocations. You'll examine how religious beliefs have influenced humanity's textual, cultural, artistic, and philosophical legacy, as well as religion's role in political conflicts and societal perspectives. The curriculum offers flexibility to either survey multiple religious traditions or concentrate specifically on Christianity.
Our alumni have pursued diverse careers including law, education, social services, finance, government, youth services, NGO work, healthcare, and religious institutions.
