The Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies operates as an interdisciplinary Area Studies department focused on research and education. Housed in a dedicated facility, it unites experts across anthropology, archaeology, literature, linguistics, political science, history, sociology, and religious studies. Our scholars work collaboratively within the Institute while maintaining connections with Exeter's disciplinary networks and contributing globally.
