The MRes program provides more intensive training in research methodology and design than standard MSc or MA degrees, equipping students for doctoral studies across all political science disciplines.
You'll develop skills in formulating research questions, constructing theories, executing studies, interpreting data, and examining the practical applications of theoretical frameworks. The program teaches you to independently determine suitable methodologies for your research objectives while mastering essential analytical techniques.
Over two years, you'll complete coursework in political theory, research methodology, and mixed methods approaches while working toward a substantial 35,000-word dissertation.
This MRes qualification significantly enhances your prospects for successful postgraduate research. We provide PhD and MPhil supervision in these specializations: governance and political systems, ideological studies, international affairs, political psychology, and political economics
Our program's academic standing is demonstrated by alumni currently holding teaching and research positions at prestigious institutions worldwide. Recent graduates have secured positions at: Mannheim University (Germany), ETH Zurich (Switzerland), Duke University (USA), NATO/SHAPE (Belgium), and the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands).
