Our MA Curating program provides hands-on and academic training in exhibition development and curation, culminating in an exhibition at our on-campus Art Exchange gallery.
This program equally balances practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and curatorial history. You'll gain fundamental exhibition expertise—from artifact care to budget management—through guest lectures by museum experts, hands-on workshops using our campus collections, and competitive internships at prestigious institutions. Past students have interned at the V&A, Royal Academy of Arts, Hayward Gallery, and Firstsite Gallery.
You'll develop a thorough understanding of exhibition history and theory while learning from scholar-curators who are actively shaping curatorial discourse through their research and publications.
The MA Curating with Professional Placement option gives you a distinct advantage by offering real-world experience with external organizations, enhancing your employability and professional network. This placement occurs between coursework and your final project, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge in professional settings while gaining valuable industry insights.
