EPCC (previously known as the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre) provides PhD research opportunities in High Performance Computing, Computational & Data Science, Software Engineering & Sustainability, and Parallelism.
With specialized knowledge in cutting-edge research, technology implementation, business consulting, and delivering supercomputing/data solutions to academic and corporate sectors.
EPCC maintains an impressive array of high-performance computing resources, including UKRI's 'ARCHER2' (the UK's primary research supercomputer). Additional systems feature the Arm-powered 'Fulhame' from the Catalyst UK initiative and the mixed-architecture 'Cirrus' Tier-2 HPC service. As part of the Edinburgh International Data Facility (EIDF), EPCC will also operate Europe's inaugural Cerebras CS-1 High Performance AI Computer installation.
