Our research seeks to deepen knowledge about disease mechanisms in animals and apply these insights to develop better treatments for both animal and human illnesses.

Key research areas include:

enhancing the wellbeing of domesticated animals
safeguarding public health
reducing human poverty (particularly concerning tropical diseases)
delivering comprehensive approaches to worldwide issues in human and veterinary medicine as well as the livestock sector
The majority of our research takes place at the Roslin Institute, which operates within the School and serves as the primary research hub.
