Our one-year Master of Science in Fire Engineering Science offers comprehensive knowledge of fire behavior's core physical processes and their engineering applications.
Emerging technologies and climate shifts are bringing unprecedented fire risks to previously safe environments. Understanding fire science and its practical engineering uses has become essential worldwide for managing, containing, and preventing fire-related disasters.

This MSc program covers fire combustion principles (fire dynamics), regulatory approaches to fire risk management, and environmental modifications for fire risk reduction. You'll gain hands-on experience studying fire phenomena through our specialized laboratory sessions.

Your dissertation will involve solving an actual fire engineering challenge, allowing you to advance future fire prevention and control techniques.

Program objectives
Upon graduation, you will be able to:

Develop, recognize, and assess fire safety engineering alternatives for complex, multi-factor challenges.
Examine experimental data and design scenarios to formulate innovative fire safety solutions.
Investigate fire safety science through research planning, data collection/analysis (both quantitative and qualitative), and comprehensive reporting.
Recognize the intricate, interdisciplinary nature of fire safety issues and navigate associated uncertainties.
Critically assess fire safety data by identifying assumptions, recognizing flawed reasoning, and precisely defining terms to determine appropriate responses.
