French serves as a global language, widely used across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Meanwhile, the languages of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden have exerted significant cultural influence well beyond Scandinavia through literature and media.
During this four-year program, which includes an international year, you'll develop advanced proficiency in French alongside Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish. Beginners are welcome to study Scandinavian languages.
Alongside language instruction, you'll examine various aspects of francophone and Nordic cultures through courses covering:
literary works and films
historical developments and societal changes
philosophical thought
Your first two years also offer opportunities to broaden your knowledge across arts, humanities, and social sciences.
While focusing on one Scandinavian language, you'll acquire practical familiarity with the other two languages we teach at degree level.
