This program culminates in Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certification for teaching students aged 11 to 16, enabling you to teach in secondary schools across England and Wales. When feasible, we also provide opportunities to gain experience with the 11-to-18 age group.
STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) play a crucial role in the UK's economic prosperity, with STEM education consistently prioritized in school curricula. Effective education relies on expert subject instruction, requiring skilled specialist teachers to motivate and challenge students.
Your mission will be to help students understand how their studies in science, design technology, computer science, engineering, and mathematics can open doors to diverse career opportunities. Our collaborative initiative receives contributions and backing from multiple London boroughs including Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Waltham Forest, and Redbridge.
As a result, our alumni can be found in nearly every secondary school across east London, with some now holding leadership positions as deputy heads or senior managers in schools that host our current trainees. In all subject areas, from mathematics to foreign languages, our teaching graduates serve as mentors for the next generation of educators. This established network gives you a distinct advantage when seeking teaching positions in east London after completing your training.
