As a criminology student, you'll examine the causes and characteristics of criminal behavior while analyzing how society addresses these issues through legal frameworks. The program provides both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in understanding crime and justice systems. Criminology adopts a social science perspective, systematically categorizing offenses and evaluating explanations for unlawful conduct. Beyond academic concepts, you'll study real-world responses to crime through institutions like law enforcement agencies, judicial bodies, correctional facilities, and rehabilitation programs.
The curriculum includes diverse specialization options in your final year, culminating in an independent research project on a subject of your choice. Our foundation year program serves as an ideal pathway if you aspire to earn a criminology and criminal justice degree but currently don't meet standard admission criteria. The initial year builds essential academic skills and subject knowledge, creating a solid base before progressing to the complete bachelor's program.
Our alumni have secured positions across various sectors. While some enter criminal justice professions, others apply their developed skills in different fields. The program emphasizes career readiness, featuring a dedicated employability component in the second year. This module offers practical guidance for job market preparation and effective application strategies.
