You'll explore forensic psychology, gaining insights into the drivers behind criminal actions and how offenders are managed within legal frameworks. The program delves into criminal psychology, examining how personality traits influence unlawful conduct. Neuroscience forms another key component, investigating how brain structures and injuries may contribute to increased risk-taking behaviors. These psychological and criminological principles are then applied to practical justice system scenarios, covering legal processes and the treatment of both perpetrators and victims.

This program emphasizes career readiness and professional development. Upon completion, your expertise in psychology, criminology, and justice systems will prepare you for diverse career paths. Alumni have secured positions with the Ministry of Justice, HM Prison and Probation Service, prisoner support organizations, mental health providers, the NHS, and educational institutions.

Students can opt for an additional year of paid professional placement to enhance their employment prospects.

The curriculum emphasizes practical application, with coursework and evaluations designed around real-world scenarios. You'll develop professional competencies through activities like offender profiling, case report writing, and justice system debates. The program also cultivates essential skills in research methodology, data interpretation, collaborative work, verbal communication, conflict resolution, and public speaking - all valuable assets for your future career.
