Criminal activity is transforming. Advancements in technology and increasingly intricate social challenges are giving rise to novel forms of unlawful behavior. Our BA (Hons) Crime and Criminal Justice program equips aspiring justice professionals with comprehensive knowledge about crime origins, offender psychology, and effective crime prevention strategies - essential for careers focused on public protection, victim assistance, safeguarding vulnerable groups, and offender rehabilitation.

Throughout your studies, we'll help you examine the personal, societal, legal, and political factors influencing both criminal acts and their regulation, while exploring the connections between academic research, theoretical frameworks, policy development, and practical applications in justice systems. The curriculum covers diverse topics including forensic investigations, collaborative agency work, ethical considerations, diversity issues, prison systems, mental health concerns, fundamental rights, equitable justice approaches, reconciliation processes, neighborhood security, economic deprivation, and protection services for at-risk populations, alongside specialized examinations of offenses like human exploitation, contemporary slavery, gender-based violence, bias-motivated crimes, extremist threats, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, and disruptive public conduct.

Our faculty members bring extensive practical experience from various criminal justice fields. They'll mentor you in cultivating both professional competencies and personal attributes (including determination and adaptability) crucial for thriving in this ever-evolving industry.
