At UEA, you’ll join a world-class community where expert scholars in 20th- and 21st-century literature collaborate closely with Europe’s most prestigious department of Creative Writing, and the British Centre for Literary Translation. This is the same vibrant environment that nurtured literary giants like Kazuo Ishiguro, Angela Carter, W.G. You’ll study the classics of modernism and explore the distinctive modes of contemporary writing. You can also take modules in creative writing, and modules bridging creative writing and criticism. We lead the discipline in the emerging discipline of the ‘creative-critical’. You can also take modules in neighbouring disciplines such as gender studies, race studies, film, and translation.
