In this program, you'll master your selected language at an undergraduate level. The curriculum includes developing reading and listening skills, translating between English and your target language, practicing prcis and paraphrasing techniques, analyzing various styles and registers, vocabulary-building exercises, and spoken language practice. You'll work exclusively with modern materials rather than literary or historical texts. During your year abroad, you'll apply these skills in real-world situations, significantly enhancing your linguistic and communication abilities before selecting specialized language courses in your final year.
As part of your degree or as an optional certified module, you can study an additional language. Depending on availability, options include Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, or Advanced English.
