Our combined Spanish and Philosophy program provides exceptional opportunities to explore interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from diverse course options spanning literature, linguistic studies, historical analysis, sociological perspectives, philosophical inquiry, artistic traditions, cinematic studies, and various cultural aspects connected to their language studies. During the first, second, and final years, students will engage with Spanish language courses alongside complementary studies in literature, cultural studies, historical contexts, and linguistics, while also completing Philosophy modules (visit the UCL Philosophy department website for comprehensive information about Philosophy studies at UCL).
The third year involves international study in a Spanish-speaking country, either at a partner university or through a professional placement. All students attain equivalent language proficiency, regardless of whether they begin as beginners or with prior language experience.
