This program offers advanced study in Italian and Philosophy through research-focused coursework, enabling students to explore how knowledge develops and evolves. Participants will cultivate independent learning skills characterized by curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules requiring 480 total credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (potentially including cross-faculty modules), while subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven advanced studies. The first two years blend core discipline modules with diverse electives (sometimes from other faculties), followed by higher-level program-specific research modules in later years.
