Our combined degree in Scandinavian Studies and English provides exceptional opportunities to explore interdisciplinary, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. You'll have access to an extensive selection of modules covering literature, linguistic studies, history, sociology, philosophy, visual arts, cinema, and other cultural aspects tied to your chosen Scandinavian language(s). Throughout your first, second, and final years, you'll study language modules from Scandinavian Studies alongside related literature, cultural studies, historical contexts, and linguistics, while also completing modules in your secondary discipline of English (see the English department's website for specific module information).
Additionally, you can enroll in courses offered by the School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS), which provide an integrative approach by incorporating expertise from across the school's diverse specializations.
