For those with a passion for history and A level History (or equivalent), our Russian and History BA offers a well-structured blend of modules that leverage our extensive expertise and resources in these disciplines. Russian language study can begin from scratch or at advanced levels for students with prior experience. Mandatory Russian language courses are included in the first, second, and fourth years for all participants. The remaining half of your degree allows you to select from SSEES's diverse history offerings, concentrating on Russian and East European History, alongside a full spectrum of Russian literature and cultural studies.
Your third year involves international study, immersing you in the language and culture while enhancing your independence and adaptability. Typically, this year is spent at a university in a relevant country, though alternative options like work placements may occasionally be available.
