Our History and Philosophy BA program lets you examine both conventional and unconventional perspectives in these disciplines.

Philosophy challenges you to ponder fundamental questions about human nature, while History examines how these questions have shaped societies during pivotal historical periods.

At Sussex, you'll become part of a vibrant, intellectually curious community with access to exceptional resources like The Keep, an archival facility near campus.
Earning a History and Philosophy degree equips you with valuable analytical, communication, writing and research abilities, opening doors to advanced academic pursuits or careers in fields including:

media production and broadcasting
public sector roles in government and healthcare
cultural heritage and museum work.
You'll have opportunities to connect with potential employers at career fairs. Beyond academics, our Philosophy Society offers chances to:

participate in thought-provoking discussions
hear from guest lecturers
build connections with fellow philosophy enthusiasts.
