Our Finnish and Swedish degree program provides exceptional opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in humanities studies. Students can select from an extensive array of modules covering literature, linguistic heritage, history, sociology, philosophy, visual arts, cinema, and various cultural aspects tied to their chosen language(s). During the first, second, and final years, participants will engage in language courses for their selected tongues alongside related cultural studies. The curriculum also incorporates interdisciplinary offerings from SELCS and SSEES, exploring connections between literature, film, linguistics, and history.
The third year involves international study, divided between two nations where the target languages are spoken. All students attain equivalent language proficiency, whether beginning a new language or building upon prior knowledge.
