Course OverviewIn collaboration with our partner Secondary Lead Schools, the University of Chester provides a Mathematics specialization program (ages 11-16 with sixth form extension) that culminates in a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).Effective mathematics instruction equips students with interconnected mathematical understanding, fostering profound comprehension. Our program cultivates enthusiastic math educators dedicated to captivating students and sparking their enthusiasm for the subject. We strive to shape well-informed, creative, and thoughtful practitioners who possess a defined educational philosophy and authentic commitment to advancing their teaching practice.This mathematics program is delivered in partnership with our Lead Secondary School collaborators.
Applicants will normally: Hold or be expected to gain a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree; Have GCSE grade C/grade 4 in English and Mathematics. IELTS 7.0 overall (with no less than 5.5 in each band). TOEFL iBT: Overall score: 91. Min sub skill: Listening: 19; Reading: 20; Speaking: 21; Writing: 20.
