The School for Policy Studies bridges academic theory, policymaking, and real-world application through a diverse, research-focused approach. Our work actively shapes policy decisions at both national and global levels. Our team of policy specialists brings expertise from numerous fields including social policy analysis, social work practice, sociological research, gender-based violence prevention, disability scholarship, healthcare systems, childhood development research, historical analysis, human geography, economic theory, psychological studies, exercise science, nutritional research, and health sciences.
Our investigations focus on policy domains that impact everyday lives, critically evaluate government and institutional policies, and explore the complex factors behind pressing social issues that dominate public discourse.
We house seven dedicated research centers, among them the renowned Norah Fry Research Centre for Disability Studies. This center serves as a premier national hub for applied social research and education, actively improving quality of life for individuals with disabilities. The center examines policies, practices, and social challenges through the lens of disability rights, emphasizing fundamental human rights and dignity.
Our school offers a dynamic setting for advanced studies, attracting graduate students globally to join our esteemed, multicultural research community. We especially encourage research proposals addressing contemporary policy challenges and social work priorities with national and international significance.
