This program is perfect for students eager to explore the application of numerical data in geographical studies. It offers hands-on training in both practical and analytical competencies, boosting your career opportunities while laying a solid foundation for graduate-level education. No previous experience with statistical methods is necessary.
Approximately two-thirds of your coursework will mirror the single honors BSc Geography curriculum, building fundamental subject expertise. You'll cultivate diverse geographical and scientific abilities, receiving comprehensive exposure to human and physical geography in your first year before selecting specialized modules in subsequent years.
The remaining portion focuses on cross-disciplinary quantitative training. During your first year in this track, we examine how numerical data shapes persuasive narratives in media and social science research, while exploring concepts like segregation and its measurement techniques.
Your second year features hands-on sessions in social statistics and applied data interpretation, strengthening your numerical and analytical capabilities to prepare you for an independent quantitative research project in year three.
The final year provides instruction in sophisticated quantitative approaches suitable for postgraduate academic work.
