During your initial year, you'll develop a comprehensive foundation in both normal and cancerous cell biology. Alongside exploring the immune system, you'll enroll in courses covering pathology, microbiology, and biochemistry.
Your second year focuses on examining cancer's cellular and molecular mechanisms along with treatment approaches, while also studying autoimmune disorders like multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and arthritis, plus virus-related cancers such as those caused by papillomavirus and hepatitis B. You'll complete molecular genetics and can choose an elective, potentially biochemistry, from available options.
All hands-on learning during years one and two is enhanced by the interactive eBiolabs digital laboratory manual.
In your final year, you'll conduct either a research project or scientific dissertation, working within our Biomedical Sciences facility, teaching labs, or partner hospitals. Your research could potentially be published in academic journals.
You may opt for the four-year BSc Cancer Biology and Immunology with Study in Industry program by transferring after securing a professional placement during your second year.
