Our Management PhD program includes an initial taught segment followed by an extended research period. This structure enables you to expand your understanding of research methodologies while conducting your own study and acquiring valuable professional skills.
The Management PhD curriculum supports students in generating and interpreting novel knowledge, as evidenced through their dissertation. The instructional portion ensures doctoral candidates comprehend the wide array of methods employed in contemporary social science research.
Participants will develop proficiency in analyzing diverse data using both qualitative and quantitative methods, while understanding the theoretical foundations of various social science approaches. We encourage full engagement with the Business School community, including attendance at seminars to explore ideas beyond one's specialization. Active involvement in PhD workshops and conferences, both within the University of Birmingham and at external institutions, is also expected.
