Offering comprehensive expertise in cardiovascular research, this program enables you to acquire hands-on experience by collaborating with a premier research team at the Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences. You'll explore molecular, physiological, and pathological mechanisms governing cardiovascular function in both healthy and diseased states. As the world's primary cause of mortality (World Health Organization), cardiovascular diseases impact the heart and blood vessels. Our initiative seeks to launch postgraduate scientists into careers focused on unraveling cardiovascular disease mechanisms to advance treatment development.
The curriculum blends academic instruction with research components. Through specialized modules in cardiovascular biology and clinical cardiology, you'll establish foundational knowledge across all field dimensions while exploring research topics for your project. The academic portion also covers essential research competencies, including scientific writing, literature critique, presentation techniques, and core cardiovascular science methodologies. For the research segment, you'll integrate into one of the Institute's research themes for eight months to conduct independent investigation in a pertinent cardiovascular specialization.
