Our comprehensive Dental Hygiene and Therapy program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical training, utilizing advanced technology and top-tier facilities. Graduates will qualify to register with the General Dental Council as Dental Care Professionals. Working alongside dental teams, these professionals provide preventive and periodontal care for patients of all ages. Their scope includes diverse treatments such as fillings, X-rays, molds, as well as removing baby teeth, performing pulpotomies, and fitting preformed crowns for pediatric patients.

The program fosters independent, proactive learning from day one. The BSc curriculum cultivates enduring competencies in professional growth and patient relations while refining manual dexterity, communication abilities, and compassionate caregiving - all critical attributes for successful Dental Hygienists and Therapists.

Minimum Age Requirement
As this programme has a mandatory clinical placement, every applicant for admission to the University must have reached the age of 18 years on 1 October of the year of entry.

Access to Higher Education (Health or Science) + Dental Nursing:
60 credits with a minimum of 45 credits at Level 3, including 30 at merit or above to include Biology total 15 credits. You must meet the GCSE entry requirements in full for the programme

BTEC Diploma:
BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or Applied Science accepted. Grades required DDM. You must meet the GCSE entry requirements in full for the programme
BTEC Diploma considered on a case by case basis when combined with an A level (Typical offer DD plus B in Biology). You must meet the GCSE entry requirements in full for the programme
BTEC Subsidiary Diploma considered on a case by case basis when combined with two A levels including Biology. You must meet the GCSE entry requirements in full for the programme
Scottish Criteria: BBBBBs at HL and AB at advanced level to include Biology
Irish Leaving Certificate: H1 H1 H2 H2 in Highers to include English, Maths and Biology
