You'll analyze existing obstacles with a particular focus on nations in the Global South, strengthening your understanding of how strategic initiatives can improve learning accessibility. By examining the contributions of major stakeholders in global education—such as funding organizations, national governments, and community groups—you'll gain comprehensive insights into the international education framework. Combining this perspective with fundamental theories, you'll explore potential approaches to advance educational progress in these areas. The curriculum directly connects with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, which aims to "provide inclusive, fair-quality education and encourage lifelong learning for everyone." This program draws on interdisciplinary instruction from both Bath's Social & Policy Sciences and Education departments, enabling you to evaluate modern international development issues comprehensively while considering the interplay of societal and educational influences.
You should have a bachelor’s honours degree or international equivalent, typically a 2:1 or above. To apply for this course you should have an undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject such as politics, economics, anthropology, international relations, sociology, government studies, African, Latin American or South East Asian Studies or environmental studies. IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components. The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element. TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components.
