The MA Performance: Society program delves into socially conscious performance art through live, digital, and site-specific practices. This program challenges traditional distinctions between visual arts, performance, film, theater, and activism. It empowers you as a performance creator to drive meaningful transformation within local communities and beyond. The curriculum investigates how performance techniques can stimulate dialogue, foster connections, and create enduring impact.
This MA program caters to students passionate about participatory arts, community-based projects, applied theater, location-based performances, film, live art, stage design, and experimental performance. As part of Central Saint Martins, we emphasize pressing issues surrounding identity and equality, environmental sustainability, and public spaces. Performance: Society students are encouraged to engage with both local and global challenges through collaborative artistic practice.
