The BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies program educates future filmmakers and industry leaders in film commissioning, distribution, curation, and exhibition through historical, theoretical, cultural, and critical examination of cinema and screen media. This course immerses students in the vibrant worldwide evolution of moving images from the 1900s to today's digital and interactive formats.

Students sharpen their analytical skills through a comprehensive schedule of film viewings paired with contextual discussions. The curriculum examines storytelling in film and screen media through multiple lenses including cinematic traditions, historical contexts, cultural backgrounds, geographical influences, genre conventions, and diverse perspectives.

The standard entry requirements for this course are as follows

112 UCAS tariff points which can be made up of one or a combination of the following accepted full level 3 qualifications

A Levels at grade B B C or above preferred subjects include English History Media Business Art and Design or other subjects within Social Sciences
Foundation Diploma in Art Design Level 3 or 4
Distinction Merit Merit at BTEC Extended Diploma preferred subjects Art and Design Media Music and Performing Arts
Merit at UAL Extended Diploma
Access to Higher Education Diploma preferred subject Digital and Creative Media Film and Production Humanities and Social Sciences
OR equivalent EUInternational qualifications such as International Baccalaureate Diploma at 25 points minimum
And 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above grade AC

IELTS level 6.0 or above, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

TOEFL IBT - valid for 2 years - Score Required - 80 - Listening - 17, Reading - 18, Writing - 17, Speaking - 20.
TOEFL iBT Home Edition is NOT accepted.
