Boost your bachelor's degree by adding a year-long placement in industry, business, or research settings. Genetics provides insights into fundamental biological processes like development, growth, and aging by examining the molecular mechanisms within cells. This includes studying the immune system's development and function, which safeguards us from harmful pathogens. It also helps identify disease mechanisms, including immunological disorders like multiple sclerosis.
This program merges Genetics and Immunology, delivering comprehensive knowledge at molecular, cellular, and organismal levels. Students will also explore specialized topics in these fields, aligned with the School's research strengths, while learning about their diverse applications.
During your fourth year, you'll complete an industrial placement, earning an MSci (an undergraduate Master's degree) after five years instead of a BSc. Placement opportunities vary widely, but typically involve working in industrial, commercial, or research environments to gain hands-on experience that complements your studies and improves career prospects.
