Our Aerospace Engineering program provides specialized education in aeronautical vehicle theory and operation, covering everything from jet and propeller aircraft to gliders and helicopters. You'll explore the complete engineering process, from initial ground concepts to in-flight performance. Whether your passion lies in design, analysis, testing, or aviation, Swansea University offers comprehensive coverage. Graduates pursue diverse career paths including: Aircraft Design Engineer, Rocket Scientist, Defense Systems Engineer, Commercial Pilot, High-Speed Rail Engineer, Flight Test Specialist, and Motorsport/Sustainable Energy Aerodynamicist. Our alumni secure positions with leading organizations like Rolls-Royce, Airbus, BAE Systems, GE Aviation, the Royal Air Force, and Jaguar Land Rover. Within six months of graduation, our students earn an average starting salary of £25,000. The program includes an optional YEAR IN INDUSTRY (UCAS H402), available both domestically and internationally, offering practical experience with an average compensation exceeding £15,000. Dedicated support helps students secure these placements. Alternatively, students may choose a YEAR ABROAD (UCAS 401) at one of our partner institutions, enhancing their academic experience while gaining cross-cultural exposure that strengthens future employment prospects.
