Train to be a motivating and inclusive secondary History educator while enhancing your subject expertise, creative abilities, and professional practice to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). International candidates need to submit applications by April 12th for the September 2024 intake. You'll become part of our vibrant Sheffield Institute of Education and participate in community-based work placements. The program covers essential teaching components such as learning theories, instructional methods, evaluation techniques, and classroom management. Alongside your History PGCE qualification, you'll obtain QTS and earn 60 credits at Master's level. Throughout the course, you'll refine your teaching skills through collaboration with qualified school mentors, experienced colleagues in educational settings, and university tutors. University workshops and school placements will provide specialized pedagogical training, encouraging critical engagement with educational research and theory.
