This Joint Honours program offers comprehensive training in both practical and theoretical aspects of Music, while allowing you to develop proficiency in your selected language - French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
Regardless of whether you begin as a beginner, advanced learner, or native speaker, you'll master essential language skills including writing, reading, speaking, and listening. All language instruction is conducted by native-speaking educators.
Your modern languages curriculum will also enable you to delve into the literature, arts, culture, and history of your chosen language region. Studies may range from 17th-century French drama to portrayals of youth in German society, from Italian design innovations to visual arts throughout Spanish-speaking countries. As a language student, you'll cultivate superior communication and research abilities, blending language mastery with intercultural understanding.

A-level in the appropriate language(s) at grade B for the advanced level language pathway
There is no language requirement for the beginners' language pathway, but only one language can be studied at this level
A-level Music or Grade 7 Music Theory at pass
Students wishing to take Solo Performance options will need to be of Grade 8 level in performance at point of entry.
At least five GCSES at grade A*-C or 9-4 including English and Mathematics.
IB - 6,5,5 at Higher Level including the appropriate language if taken at Higher Level and Music with 32 points overall. Pass at grade 7 Music Theory accepted in place of HL Music plus grade 7 practical.

IELTS: 6.5 overall. Writing 7.0. No other subscore lower than 5.5.
TOEFL iBT: 88 overall, with Reading 18 Listening 17 Speaking 20 Writing 26
