This Joint Honours program equally blends the study of English literature with Philosophy.
Spanning from Beowulf to contemporary Booker Prize winners, the English component lets you explore the complete historical spectrum of English literature while keeping pace with current developments in the field, including opportunities for creative writing.
You'll examine foundational English works, deepen your understanding of Shakespeare, appreciate Renaissance masterpieces, explore 18th-century perspectives, and analyze Victorian literature. The flexible curriculum ensures you gain comprehensive knowledge of major periods, genres, authors, and concepts while offering diverse elective choices. Options include studying Modernist and Postmodernist movements, American literature, literary theory, creative writing workshops, and contemporary global English literatures.
