Food Science examines the suitability of our food, considering visual characteristics (like color and surface properties), texture, taste, and aroma, while exploring methods to enhance these qualities. It also investigates the physical, microbial, and chemical components of food that could pose health risks and strategies to reduce them. Nutrition studies how food provides essential nutrients to maintain human health across all life stages, including during illness.
