As one of Queen's inaugural degree programs, Civil Engineering stands among the longest-established in the UK and Ireland. Yet it continues to rank highly among desirable professions, offering solutions to contemporary societal challenges.
This expansive field shapes society's fundamental frameworks - from bridges and transportation networks to water systems and power supplies. Our curriculum focuses on creating, sustaining, and managing these critical infrastructures through planning, design, and construction. Specializations span structural engineering, transport systems, geotechnics, and hydraulic engineering.
Following a shared foundational year, students can customize their academic journey through three specialized tracks:
Civil Engineering Structural Engineering with Architecture Environmental and Civil Engineering.
