The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry ranked among the top seven UK institutions across all Units of Assessment – including Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care, as well as Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy – in the 2014 REF. The Blizard Institute serves as the largest research center within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, committed to achieving excellence in research, education, and clinical care. Currently, approximately 140 PhD students from 23 nations pursue their studies at the Blizard Institute. Located on the Whitechapel campus, the Institute operates in close collaboration with The Royal London Hospital and the Dental Hospital. Its core objectives include: Establishing a globally recognized biomedical research hub that bridges fundamental science, clinical studies, and translational research; Creating pioneering, interdisciplinary research programs with international impact; Fostering an intellectually stimulating environment with state-of-the-art facilities for training emerging researchers and students; Building collaborative relationships with nearby NHS Trusts and local communities to improve regional healthcare outcomes.
Typically, the minimum entry requirement is an UK upper second class honours degree (2:1). Some Schools/Institutes require a first class honours degree and/or a masters degree. Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in reading, speaking and listening. TOEFL minimum score 92 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
