You'll master modern engineering techniques, investigate material structures and properties in detail, and select specialized modules in areas like manufacturing, nanotechnology, polymer science, sustainable energy solutions, and beyond.Concurrently with coursework, you'll undertake a year-long research initiative within our materials research groups. Potential project areas span ceramics, polymers, composites, smart materials, or advanced manufacturing processes.Gain hands-on experience in our exceptional facilities, including the NanoVision Center's advanced microscopy equipment for high-precision imaging and comprehensive material analysis.Accreditation DetailsOur Advanced Materials Science and Engineering MSc holds IOM3 accreditation, approved by the UK's Engineering Council.This accredited program partially fulfills the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Graduates with both this MSc and a CEng-accredited BEng(Hons) degree will meet the full educational criteria for CEng registration.Note: MSc graduates without an accredited undergraduate degree must undergo individual qualification assessment through the Individual Case Procedure to pursue CEng status.
A 2:2 or above at undergraduate level in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, related disciplines (Biomaterials, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, etc), Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.
 
IELTS (Academic) minimum score 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each of Writing, Listening, Reading and Speaking.  TOEFL minimum score 92 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
