Aligned with the GDC (UK) Specialist Curriculum, it introduces contemporary, innovative, and research-backed treatment approaches in pediatric dentistry. Students will implement their knowledge through clinical work with young patients while conducting supervised research projects alongside our specialist faculty. The curriculum focuses on mastering essential procedures and applying this expertise to address diverse behavioral and medical challenges, from developmental dental issues to traumatic injuries. Trainees will work in a busy multidisciplinary clinic serving a dense population, exposing them to complex cases including severe dental conditions and hypodontia, with support from orthodontic and restorative specialists. The program includes doctoral-level research training, culminating in written assessments and a final thesis. Participants will also engage with visiting experts through regular seminar programs hosted by the Institute of Dentistry and Blizard Institute. This qualification aligns with Level 8 of the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ). Career Opportunities The degree prepares graduates for academic pathways or specialized practice in Pediatric Dentistry. Successful completion enables candidates to sit the Royal College of Surgeons membership examination for specialist registration in Pediatric Dentistry.
Applicants must have a primary qualification in Dentistry (BDS or equivalent). IELTS (Academic) minimum score 7.0 overall with 6.0 in each of Writing, Listening, Reading and Speaking. TOEFL minimum score 100 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
