The Glasgow Dental School Clinical Research Facility is dedicated to enhancing oral and overall health through innovative approaches to disease prevention and treatment. Our research endeavors aim to create meaningful benefits for both local communities and global populations.
Within our School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing, we foster a dynamic international community of postgraduate researchers, most of whom pursue PhD studies across our two key research areas: Community Oral Health investigates health disparities throughout life, with special emphasis on pediatric, geriatric, and head/neck cancer patients' oral health. This involves examining biological, social, and behavioral factors to create and assess interventions spanning from laboratory research to population-wide applications. Oral Sciences explores microbial contributions to oral disease development and their systemic health consequences, particularly focusing on biofilm formations. The College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences Graduate School offers an engaging, nurturing environment for all postgraduate scholars, supported by specialized convenors, expert supervisors, and comprehensive student welfare services.
