The initial year establishes core engineering fundamentals, followed by deeper exploration of mechanics, manufacturing processes, energy systems, and design principles—often through collaborations with industry leaders like Nissan, BAE Systems, and Rolls-Royce. Northumbria's BEng in Mechanical Engineering spans three years, with the flexibility to extend to four years through optional placements or international study. The curriculum also enables you to investigate modern engineering challenges through interdisciplinary Level 7 projects, creating pathways to our MEng qualification.
Career readiness is integrated throughout Northumbria's Mechanical Engineering curriculum.
