Our Master of Research (MRes) program is designed for graduates holding a Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related fields. It's also ideal for intercalating medical/dental students and qualified MBBS/BDS graduates. You'll craft a personalized curriculum by selecting from our extensive range of specialized modules, followed by an intensive 24-week research project. Our instruction is grounded in cutting-edge research, with course content continuously evolving to incorporate: advancements in the field, accreditation standards, industry partnerships, and student input. Mitochondrial research represents a highly competitive scientific domain. While your studies will primarily focus on academic research, select students may gain valuable industry exposure.
This MRes serves as a springboard for scientific careers in both academic and industrial research settings, while also providing exceptional preparation for doctoral studies. Alumni from Newcastle's Faculty of Medical Sciences MRes program have secured diverse positions including: research scientists, clinical research associates, laboratory managers, pharmaceutical consultants, data analysts, medical writers, healthcare executives, and various roles in clinical practice and biotechnology development.
