The Foundation Year in Law and Social Sciences serves as an introductory pathway to degrees in law, politics, criminology, or sociology for students who currently don't meet standard entry criteria. This program involves a four-year structure, beginning with a foundational year. Upon successful completion, students advance directly into our three-year degree programs in these disciplines. Transition rates to full degree programs are excellent, with many foundation students developing into top-performing graduates.
This Foundation Year may be right for you if:
you lack the formal qualifications needed for direct degree entry
you don't yet feel prepared for university-level coursework
you're returning to education and want academic preparation before starting your degree.
Program duration: 1 year foundation + 3 years degree study
