The legal field, similar to other industries, undergoes constant evolution and transformation. At Manchester Met, we adapt our teaching methods to equip students for tomorrow's legal landscape, influenced by both the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) pathway and innovations in legal tech.
Our LLM Legal Practice program helps you build essential expertise and practical abilities to advance your career—whether you're a recent graduate aiming to qualify as a solicitor or an experienced lawyer seeking professional growth.
Pathway to becoming a solicitor
For those pursuing qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, this course provides comprehensive preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE 1 and 2). You'll engage with our specialized SQE preparation modules:
Core Legal Principles and Their Practical Implementation (SQE 1)
Essential Legal Techniques and Professional Practice (SQE 2)
These modules are tailored to help you succeed in the external assessments administered by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Adaptable study options
To accommodate diverse student needs, we provide both full-time and part-time study formats. Full-time students complete the program intensively within one year, while part-time learners can extend their studies across two years. This flexibility allows you to balance work, studies, and personal responsibilities effectively.
Note that the LLM Legal Practice follows an academic year spanning September to September, divided into three semesters.
Important: The SQE 1 and SQE 2 examinations are conducted by the SRA. Registration and payment for these assessments are separate from our course fees. Manchester Met has no involvement in scheduling, venue selection, pricing, or administrative processes related to the SQE exams.
