If you're capable of degree-level study but fall short of the entry criteria, a Foundation Year serves as a stepping stone, preparing you for Year 1 entry.
The curriculum is designed to boost your confidence and get you up to speed for your chosen degree. Alongside Academic Practice units that enhance your study skills for higher education, you'll explore various humanities subjects. After successfully completing your Foundation Year, you'll advance directly to Year 1 of your selected honors degree.
All humanities foundation students take Academic Practice (Units 1 and 2) to build essential academic and study skills for degree-level work. You'll also examine subjects like Key Case Studies in International Relations, Philosophical Approaches to Modern Issues, and Post-War Britain.
Learning occurs through diverse methods, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, and when relevant, hands-on workshops, computer lab sessions, and digital learning platforms.
Successfully finishing the foundation year ensures direct entry into Year 1 of your chosen degree program.
