We enthusiastically invite applications from qualified candidates interested in pursuing doctoral studies within our Translation department's areas of expertise, which includes comparative projects. Our specialized languages are Chinese, French, German, and Spanish.
While primarily research-focused, the program offers supplementary taught courses to enhance various research skills, such as the foundational "Research Skills for Modern Linguists" module. These resources allow you to broaden your knowledge beyond your thesis topic while acquiring valuable career development skills.
Doctoral candidates in our Languages and Cultures Department receive guidance from two supervisors and actively participate in the department's research community. Participation in postgraduate seminars to present ongoing work is expected, along with representation on pertinent departmental committees.
