The MSc Psychology Research Methods program offers practical experience, exceptional instruction, and PhD-level research training recognized by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). You'll learn from globally renowned academics through research-driven teaching all year.

Through required coursework, you'll build specialized knowledge and refine your capabilities. You'll expand your capacity to evaluate and understand psychological data while acquiring sophisticated research techniques. These fundamental competencies will prove invaluable whether pursuing advanced research or specialized psychology careers like clinical or forensic psychology.

You'll select two elective modules to customize your studies, aligning the program with your interests while deepening your expertise in particular psychology specializations.

The curriculum includes professional development training for psychology careers and related fields, covering resume preparation, interview techniques, collaborative work, and effective presentation methods.

A highlight of your studies will be conducting original research under faculty supervision. This dissertation project lets you apply your learning to a topic of your choosing. Qualification Requirements

2:1 Hons degree (UK or equivalent) in Psychology or related cognate discipline. Your degree must have covered some Statistics and Research Methods modules.

We will also consider applications on an individual basis where you have a degree in an unrelated subject, or a 2:2 or equivalent result. In these cases, you should clearly demonstrate how your experience and skills have prepared you for postgraduate study, in particular providing you with a background in statistics and research methods appropriate to psychology. We normally require an IELTS (Academic) Test with an overall score of at least 7.0, and a minimum of 6.0 in each element of the test. ToEFL IBT or ToEFL IBT Home Edition with an overall score of at least 94, with a minimum of 19 in reading, 19 in listening, 19 in speaking and 22 in writing.
